I signed up for a Czech language class in 2017 with the intention of only learning to say basic pleasantries and how to say “where is the bathroom?” for a two week trip to Prague. This class quickly spiraled into an obsession with all things Czech (and Slovak) language, film, art, history, culture, food…and even occasionally sports! I am continuing to attempt to speak the language, despite being a working adult living in Chicago.
